St. Peter ad Vincula Lodge in common with all other Masonic Lodges places a high premium on the charitable aspects of freemasonry. Although we are a relatively small Lodge we pride ourselves that we maintain the charitable traditions of our predecessors.
During the Masonic year 2010-2011 our Lodge donated over £1000 to the 2013 Grand Charity Festival as well as donating £200 to the Endon (Staffs) branch of the Chernobyl Childrens Project. An organisation which for the last thirteen years has helped children affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
At the Provincial Grand Lodge Meeting on May 11th 2011 our Lodges efforts were recognised by the Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. Thomas D C Lloyd when he presented the Worshipful Master with a certificate and crystal goblet to mark our progress in raising money for the 2013 festival. Our members can take some pride in being the ninth lodge in the province to receive this honour. (please follow link to Photos)
During the Masonic year 2011-2012 St Peter ad Vincula Lodge has been able to make further charitable donations.
At Christmas we donated 50 toys to the Chesterton Salvation Army appeal toy appeal, we made donations to Cancer Research and to a local School appeal.
At the March Installation meeting we will be giving a total of £2000 to various charities, including five £100 donations to local causes.
As well as making these donations the Lodge has also qualified for a second, silver award, 2013 charity festival certificate and pair of goblets.
St Peter ad Vincula Lodge would like to thank all of the visiting Brethren who helped to make the January "Old English Night" such a successful event.
Special thanks are due one again to W.Bro. Ken Bell of Ceramic Lodge No. 3827 who acted as Fines Master on the night.
Together we raised over £800 for the Staffordshire 2013 Festival appeal, a magnificent sum. It is the Lodges intention to make a further donation in March 2013 of £1500 to the 2013 Grand Charity appeal.
